Black-throated Gray Warbler
The Black-throated Gray Warbler is a monotone bird with a tiny spot of yellow just in front of the eye. It almost looks like they have spectacles perched on the base of their bill. Their face is streaked black and white while the back is mostly gray with a white belly with black streaks down the side. The adult male has a black throat. The adult female is paler overall and their throat has less black. Immatures are similar looking to the females but they lack black throat coloring.
These spring to fall migrants can be seen hopping from branch to branch in oak and pine trees while they look for insects.
