WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH

With clean black, gray, and white markings, including a white streak over their eyes, White-breasted Nuthatches are super active little birds with an appetite for insects and large seeds. They get their name from their habit of jamming large nuts and acorns into tree bark, then whacking them with their sharp bill to “hatch” the seed and get to the meaty insides. White-breasted Nuthatches may be small but their voices are mighty!
